Radiant Returning - A 4-Day Dance, Yoga & Sound Meditation Retreat October 14th - 17th 2021 with Kristen Huffman

Joshua Tree, CA

October 14th- 17th

If you love dancing,

 "like you mean it"

 this is for you

If you prefer feeling an authentic sense of sovereignty within a “workout” experience, this is for you.

If you’re afraid of looking silly in front of other people, or if you’re very confident and thrive on the group thing,

this is for you.

Most of all, if you endeavor to release the stagnant energy of the past 18 months, if you need to gather your energy to forge a future you’re excited to step into, if you are ready to feel fueled by the collective magic of other women — this is for you.

A 4-Day Dance, Yoga & Sound Meditation Retreat

with Kristen Huffman

Let's meet in the desert, where the sky is big. Stomp and breathe and integrate the life that has happened. Initiate the new parts of us that ask for a space to be held and acknowledged. Hold and behold a circle that is a safe and soft place for us all to land.

- Kristen Huffman

Kristen’s leading this? I’m there.

For those of you you know you're in already...

We’re coming together to…

Move life through our bodies...

Reconnect with the collective wisdom of other women

Reintegrate into community with each other

Rebalance our innate wildness and desire to be free from isolation

On this retreat, we’ll spend 4 days and 3 nights at a desert oasis property in Joshua Tree, grounding, lifting and shifting within the alchemical space of the dance floor.

This dance floor is steeped with intention.

It’s a gateway to higher consciousness.

It’s an opportunity to activate the parts of us that have been waiting to expand into being.

And it’s where we are going to have so much fun!!

If you’ve been to Kristen Huffman’s virtual YBB dance parties, or have attended her in-person classes in LA, New York, or Denver, you know what to expect.

If you haven’t…

“The YBBWKND with Kristen had all the best elements of a slumber party (dancing, music, goofiness, yummy food) cradled with all best offerings of a yoga or meditation retreat (deep work, reflection, tears, and stillness). If you love yourself...go! If you have trouble loving yourself...go! If you're scared about making friends...go! There's only one human like Kristen and time with her is not to be missed!”

- Courtney S.

“Kristen is a gifted spiritual guide infusing her teachings with compassion, wisdom and grace. If you are looking to play and connect to your childhood essence this is the retreat for you! Kristen creates a warm and welcoming environment where safety and inclusion are at the heart of the community. Kristen creatively blends the practices of yoga, dance, and spirituality while infusing the practices with wonder and awe. She brings a fresh dose of sunshine to brighten any day. Sign up for your next adventure today!”

-Nicole A.

“I attended several YBB retreats and LOVED every single one of them. As an introvert, I was nervous before my first retreat about spending a weekend with a bunch of people, some of whom I didn't know well, but Kristen created a space that allowed for everyone to feel completely at ease and supported. The connections and pure magic I experienced at each retreat are impossible to describe with words. It goes way beyond what I'd previously thought of as "dance." All I can say is that I will forever move heaven and earth to go to one of Kristen's YBB weekends whenever the opportunity arises and can't wait for the next one.”

-Taryn A.

“Some of my happiest memories of the last 6 years include YBB retreats with Kristen Huffman. I am so grateful our paths crossed when they did - she truly has a beautiful gift of bringing awesome people together. I've had some really profound breakthroughs on Kristen's retreats, and I truly believe that is because she fosters a sacred space to process, explore, and grow. You'll laugh, cry, dance, scream, and ultimately find the sweetest peace you've ever experienced. I've found that when I set aside time to work on myself by attending these retreats, I am able to show up more authentically & compassionately in my day-to-day life.”

- Katie M.

“I walked into the room and didn’t know anyone except for my sister. I was shocked at how the community felt so welcoming. Joy. Acceptance. Connection. Kristen does this thing where you link up your arms with other women and do this kickline, and it feels like pure sisterhood. I left Kristen’s studio with happy tears. I wasn’t thinking about my postpartum body, all the things going on in my life - I was letting myself feel emotions in the moment. Joy, the great energy from the group in a judgement-free space. No looking around like ‘am I doing this right?’ It’s just fun.”

- Hillary M.

You’ll have a chance to get outside and explore with hikes — and to venture inward, with stillness.

Radiant Returning Hosts

Kristen Huffman- of Feels Pretty Awesome

Kristen Huffman- of Feels Pretty Awesome

Kristen has been teaching YBB throughout Los Angeles and New York City since 2007. The communities that Kristen fosters with intention, know her for her un-intimidating choreography, and authentically uplifting communal dance style. Her classes draw women who tend to enjoy a sense of sovereignty and depth in their workout experience, and may not want their workout to feel like a workout at all. Kristen believes in the need we all have to experience the elevating duality of both wildness and grounded presence within the arc of every class. As she has evolved in her path of service, Kristen's education has broadened to include Hatha yoga, Sound Therapy, and Pranayama (breathwork,) championing a blend of modalities within her brand, "Feels Pretty Awesome." Through the development of her retreats, Kristen has been able to explore the cumulative effects of bridging therapy with enjoyment, never failing to result in a party.

Hillary Murphy- of Abundance Retreats

Hillary Murphy is the owner of Abundance Retreats, and co-owns and designed the properties where the Abundance retreats are held. As an interior designer with 20+ years of experience, her vision was to create spaces perfect for the types of experiences that have transformed her own life — retreats. "I’ve always loved retreats. I’ve made friends, I’ve made breakthroughs, and I have grown so much as a person because of the ideas and the people I encountered. I knew I had a unique opportunity to partner with gifted facilitators to bring people together in a powerful way". Hillary is most passionate about serving women, because women in particular rarely take the time to step away and reconnect with themselves, get clear on who they are, what they want and the changes they want to make in their lives. Creating that space, allows them to find new interests, forge friendships, and expand their knowledge which creates a positive ripple effect that spreads to their families and communities.

Are you ready?

When we live in the space of our dance-floor-selves for the rise and fall of 3 nights, when we hold that sacred space to integrate what we have experienced and embody who we are now, there are parts of us we tend to remember, and discover.

This is what Radiant Return is all about...

Are you feeling called to join us?

What do I need to bring?

Things to bring:

  • Clothes you can move in.
  • Clothes you can sleep in.
  • Warm clothes for nighttime (it gets COLD in the desert after dark - sweats will be your friend).
  • Your own reusable water bottle (hydration is important in the desert!).
  • Sunscreen and/or a hat for hikes.
  • Portable craft projects, a journal, paint - whatever you need to get creative, because you will definitely feel inspired. There’s no designated craft, but there will be free time. Bring the medium of your choice that’s available to share and join us at the community art table.
  • Earplugs if you need an early bedtime, because rich, juicy conversations may last late into the night.

Don’t worry about…

  • Knowing how to dance, or do yoga — you don’t need to be a dancer or yogini to be here. If it’s your first time, you’ll fit right in. If it’s your 100th time, you’ll fit right in.
  • Bringing a friend, or friends.
  • Your body, your clothes, your hair, or your nails.
  • Yoga mats (unless you want to bring your own)

Can I get a private room?

Because we are hosting this event on two private properties, space is limited.  There are a few private rooms, and the rest are shared.

But, the nature of this experience is communal, like a giant sleepover, so we think you’ll enjoy it!

I’m not sure if this is for me, but I’m really tempted. Help?

If you haven’t tried YBB with Kristen before, you might not be sure what to expect - and that’s okay! Nobody’s journey is exactly the same. The ‘aha’ moments you experience will be unlike anyone else’s. That said, you will probably love this experience if you...

-Are attracted to the idea of having sovereignty over your workout experience.

-Love the energy of an ultra inclusive, co-creative environment, but also love doing your own thing.

-Appreciate safe spaces that hold you, and the ability to express yourself.

-Love the chance to get out of your head and into your body through movement. Kristen’s choreography is not complicated. It puts you into a meditative, relaxed, free space where you can let go and allow your body to do its thing.

-Crave connection, are curious about other people, love deep conversations and enjoy free-spirited play.

-Are an introvert or extrovert, love performing or hate performing. This is about being yourself. It’s non-competitive and non-performative. You can’t do it wrong.

You may not love this if you…

-Need steps and instructions for how to do every single motion (that’s not what this is about!).

-Hear someone talking about metaphysics, crystals, meditation, and think “Uh, weirdo!” (We’re all weirdos here. Whatever your weird is, we’re into it.)
